How this runs today
Everything runs through a messaging group and a volunteer's personal phone. Consent forms and medical details are collected on paper at the start of the season and stored in a folder in someone's house. Volunteers are recruited by asking the same reliable people repeatedly. Transport to fixtures is arranged ad hoc in a group chat. When the volunteer administrator steps down, the operational knowledge and often the records leave with them.
