Player Evaluation Software for Football

Voice-enabled toolWorkflow application2-4 week first releaseVoice or chat interface

Problem

Evaluators at trials and scouts after matches often capture the most useful observations under time pressure. Paper cards, notebooks and generic voice notes preserve fragments but create manual transcription and inconsistent reports later. The detail behind a score can disappear before the shortlist meeting.

Product idea

A mobile player evaluation app for football that supports fast scoring, typed notes and optional voice capture against a player, category and event. On a trial day, evaluators can work from a preloaded roster or bib number and speak an observation such as a category, score and short reason. After a match, a scout can use the same structured capture flow for a fuller report. Speech is transcribed into agreed fields and always remains reviewable against the raw note. Multiple evaluator views are shown side by side rather than collapsed into an unexplained automated verdict.

Where the AI agent does the work

The agent's task is transcription, not judgement: it turns a spoken observation into the category, score and note fields the club already uses, so an evaluator keeps watching the trial instead of stopping to write. That removes the write-up step that currently happens after the fact, once the detail behind a score has already started to fade. Every transcript stays attached to the original recording and is reviewable before it counts as the record, so speed does not come at the cost of accuracy. The saving lands at the point evaluators actually feel it: the gap between an observation happening and it being usable in a shortlist meeting shrinks from a transcription session to the time it takes to speak the note.

Who it is for

Football academies, clubs and scouting teams that currently use paper evaluation sheets, spreadsheets or unstructured voice notes during trials, camps and live scouting.

Possible first version

A mobile web app with event/roster import, configurable evaluation categories, fast score entry, push-to-talk notes, offline local capture, transcription and a review step. Add per-player comparison across evaluators and spreadsheet export. Do not auto-rank players for selection in version one and do not write directly into the club's scouting database until field use is proven.

Questions we get asked

What is player evaluation software?

Player evaluation software helps coaches, scouts and trial evaluators capture structured scores and observations, compare multiple evaluators and produce a usable record without retyping paper forms.

Can evaluators dictate notes by voice?

Yes. Voice can be mapped into fields such as player, category, rating and observation, with a review step so the evaluator can correct transcription before the record is final.

Does it work without mobile signal?

A trial-focused implementation should save entries locally and sync them later. Offline behaviour should be tested on the actual devices and venues used by the club.

Does it rank players automatically?

It does not need to. The safer first use is structured capture, comparison and reporting, leaving selection decisions with the coaching and recruitment staff.
